Conservative night of shooting, but productive in terms of the number of hogs put down. I could stand to have a few more nights like this...

Another awesome video... great shooting. I’m currently hunting hogs with a Gemtech Tracker butnwill soon have the Griffin Recce 7.... can’t wait to get back to Texas. Stay safe and keep slaying bro!

Always enjoy your vids, especially the dissections to find out bullet intel. A twofer is always happy-dance inspiration. AB Jr. missed his chance to do his jig on camera.

Now that is some commitment to a hunt and some incredible discipline not to try and take a shot into a narrow window that did not have any cows/calves.

What a great video. How long does it take you to compile all of that footage and dub in your commentary?

Nice going! Looks like you're doing a bit of traveling to cover so much territory. Good Shooting, including knowing when not to shoot.

What a great video. How long does it take you to compile all of that footage and dub in your commentary?

An embarrassing question! Logically, it should all snap together really quickly and once in a while it does. On shorter videos without much editing (usually because there isn't much video), an hour or so. When there is video from more than one source, multiple hunts, necropsy, etc., 3-4 hours. If I have all those things, it can be an all day deal. Mixed in with all that is picture cropping/resizing, playback and text proofing and so on. At this point with this antiquated video software, I have things fairly stream-lined for a sort of boilerplate format.

Part of what slows down the whole process is that I will review sections several times, figuring out what went right or wrong with shots, and finding things I missed in the field. For example, the 4th piglet in the video above. I didn't realize I had a twofer until I reviewed the video. It never registered with me at the time. While I was there, I am not always familiar with everything that went on and so this helps me get familiar with the video reality so that I can do the voice over.

I hate doing the voice-over, but viewers seem to like it. As there is no written script, I watch the video and come up with some ideas of how to describe what I want and then try to do that while recording, often to only realize that I either have too much time/video or too little time/video to cover the topic and have to edit some more.

One thing I have learned is that waiting in the field for a good shot is much more exciting than waiting at home and watching a computer screen for a good shot to develop. What was exciting in the field, with high tension, adrenaline, etc. sometimes just looks boring. LOL.

Excellent discipline and good shooting as always. You are one deadly son of a gun.

Great video as usual. Always worried about cows being in a thicket behind the hogs.
