Hi I am new to the idea of hog hunting but here in SC the hogs are beginning to get rampant. I am located in the upstate of SC. I have decided to get a six8 from LWRC as a combo deer/hog rifle. I was curious on what ammo works well for y'all. and if anyone reloads what their recipe for success is. Thank for your time.

Welcome! 6.8 offers several choices in my opinion. I have had good luck with the Hornady 120 gr. SST.

Welcome! Be aware, when you get started with this hobby, your wife won’t see much of you again! I also shoot the Hornady SST 120 gr., can’t go wrong for hogs with this round. Are you in the medical field?

I’m also a retired caregiver, and I think I’m out more at night now than I was taking call!! Good luck!

Glad you found us...

Can't help with the ammo question, as I shoot bolt action only.

I'm one of a rare Texas breed that has a medical license, concealed carry permit and library card in the same wallet.

(It sounds a little crowded, but with the library card, you never have to worry about having room for a condom)

don't have the 6.8.
sold my .277 but when I did run with it my Barnes 95gr TAC-TX were phenomenal on coyotes and hogs.
Welcome.
