Moved to Waco, Texas in late 2014 from the Pacific Northwest to get away from the gloomy weather and high taxes, and to get somewhere a little friendlier with a more freedom-centric mindset. It's working out well so far.

I'm on here because I'm looking to have some fun helping folks out with their hog problems. I have qualified expert many times with an M16A2, and took 1st place in the rifle division of the Oregon National Guard Adjutant General's match in 2014. I currently have 2 AR's well equipped for night hunting: a 16" 300 blackout topped with a Pulsar RXQ30V thermal sight, and a 16" 223 topped with a Sight Mark Photon XT 4.6.

If you are in my general vicinity, and need a hand with shooting hogs, I'd be happy to come help out. I have a coworker buddy who I've gone out with a couple times on his parent's ~100 acre ranch, and now I'd like to branch out and do it more often if possible. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Make it a point to mention your interest in hog hunting whenever you can reasonably bring it up in conversation. Don't be a pain in the backside, but let people know that it's something you enjoy. I've gotten access to a couple of properties because friends knew I hog hunted, and they knew people who had hog problems. I'd have never met the property owners on my own. It may come to nothing, it may take quite a while, but you just may get lucky!

Thanks, I appreciate the advice.

There's lots of Thermal Hunters close to the Waco area. I know of 5 guys in Gatesville, 1 in Crawford, 1 in Jonesboro, a couple of us are out of Copperas Cove. 4 of the folks have their own ranches they hunt on, the rest of us are always looking for new places to hunt.

Welcome aboard. Thermal hog hunting is very addictive. Almost killed my urge to deer hunt.

Man... the reasonable price of thermals is making us dime-a-dozen, huh? I'm also 11 months into my NFA wait time on my Silencerco Hybrid. I cannot wait to shoot a Hog with a suppressed, thermal equipped weapon, and send pictures back up to the old buddies in Oregon.

On an unrelated note... i could not figure out how to change my profile picture... am i missing something? Searched, found no answer.
