I would get the next one up when they finally come out. Just my opinion but an adjustable focus will be worth the extra cost.
In my area of operation, I'll be doing some pest control as close as 10ft away with a PCP air rifle and most of my hog hunting in the Texas Brush country where shots would rarely be over a 100yds. I was thinking the 1.5-6 would be perfect for this?

I would expect there to be 640 versions (one year) with the 50mm focal length being 2x (half the 4x of the 320) and the 75mm focal length being 3x (half the 6x of the 320). If these larger focal length scopes have enough "shock and awe" with their image ... and the shown price of the Q-14B (now up in pre-order status on NVG ) is any indicator ... these "boson zeuses" could really grab the market!

Maybe he will get his tracking number next week? Based on the timeline you provided as an update.

Do you know which units will be shipping on the 20th? I'm interested to see if the new units have a focusable front lens.

No these will not have a focus. That is how they kept the cost down on these. If you want a focus you will need the next level up.

Just heard, units ship the 20th, dealer will receive 2-3 days after.
I've heard "2 more weeks" for a couple months now. I don't blame the dealers, since this isn't an isolated issue with one dealer, but seems to be happening to all of them. I'm sure Flir is either not giving their dealers the whole story, or not making good on their commitments. I'll believe it when I see the UPS truck pull up to the house...

I found a picture of the 533 and I see it has the same type of lens (HD??) that is on my new Zeus 640 75mm 30Hz. This is the first picture I have seen of a scope with this newer lens design. A dealer recently told me that the Zeus Pros (and all regular Zeus's or just the 75mm?) all come with these now but I've never seen a picture of one. It seems Armasight/FLIR is scant on information with the new line and even their existing line. This is a big turn off for me. If you started putting a great new HD lens on your Zeus/Zeus Pro line of scopes, why wouldn't you make that known? No pictures on the internet including their own websites showing Zeus models with this advancement? What's a consumer to think when he receives the scope and it doesn't look at all like everything he reads and sees on the internet? Seems dumb to me. I sent my Zeus 640 75mm back and this is a primary reason why--the company behind it just doesn't seem to be on the ball and I don't like that with a $5000 item.
Can you post the picture? I heard the new lens is supposed to be awesome. If that's true I will wait for that model and postpone buying the 233

Thanks brother! I'm assuming the front lens is manually adjustable?
Yes everything past the predator or pts233 entry level is focasable. The new q14 was not focusable at shot show if it ever comes out.

I don't understand. Why would you produce a thermal that had no focus ?? How does this work ??
My ATN ThOR is very dependent on the focus. At <100yds,if the animal moves closer or farther,of only 15yds or so,you need to refocus. You can still target the hog but it will not be visably as clear. ---- pruhdlr
