You know Sellmark (US distributor for Pulsar) can't keep inventory of Pulsar rifle scopes (which are in the $3K range) that are only 384 resolution. With the new features and 8 hour battery packs, I would bet they continue to see strong sales for both the 384 and 640 scopes. We shall see. It should be an interesting year as the prices eventually settle out for each of the companies.

What to buy, what you buy. Anyone want to buy my old gen 2+ Nemesis?
Can't wait to see video from Pulsar & the new 12 micron Zeus.

I have a good buddy who works for Sellmark and he is planning to bring their new thermals up to our ranch real soon to demo on some hogs and coyotes. I will report back when I know more. We've tentatively planed on the end of this month.

That is great news! I am sure I am not the only one really looking forward to your comments. I hope the new model for the "working Joe" hunter is as good as it sounds. Thank you in advance.

I have really enjoyed my XD 50 s monocular . I have had it for over a year and it is rock solid. It has taken lots of abuse and I have had NO problems with it. I was apprehensive when I bought it but it is a great unit. Much longer battery life than Armasight and Eotech 640 units. It is 50 hertz and they are 60. One set of 4 lithium AA last about 8 solid hours in it.

I am so close to going in on an XD38A, but keep hearing about these newer models on the way. Talked to a guy at UNV today he said their intro level will be ~ $2,500 with a few more bells and whistles than the 38. I know you Texas boys have hot humid nights like we do in Florida.....any of you with the 38 happy with it in 90+ degree heat 95% humidity(common nights around here!)? Not sure I want to get into the wait/delay/wait/out of stock/wait game on new stuff and end up with deer season upon us again and not having dropped the sledge hammer on our hog problem.

Anybody know if the trail scopes have sound on the on board recording device or just video?
It only had sound at shot show, I've heard different reports that it will and won't in its final form. The few prototypes in use here do not have sound.

I'm not sure any scope is going to look great in those situations. Some of the new pulsar features are very interesting, I really like the removable battery pack with 12 or 16 hours of run time. Get a few battery packs and you are good to go. Cr123's get expensive with these power hungry thermals.

I heard with the new pulsar scopes when you buy the first 17 inches of scope you get the next 11 inches for free!!!!! And a free 6" plastic eye piece!!!!!

Yea it seems that is a tough scenario, but I can't control the weather so will just roll with it and see how we do. My buddy and I are psyched to cut our teeth with some night hunting though either way. Kind of like fishing out of a tower......I had no idea what I was missing for a good 30 years until I started running the flats 10' in the air. Game changer.....at the very least I think I'm going to see a lot more than I ever have. Still have to build the skill set of shooting at night, but we love all of it so will just lace 'em up and put on the learnin' cap! I've spent a solid 90 minutes on the phone with John from USA Optics he has answered a ton of newb questions and I'm doing a meet and greet with him in the next couple of weeks so we can take a few scopes out at night and see what we can see.

I have had a Pulsar 38A since June of last year. It is a fine scope, and I like it a lot.

However, there are a couple of issues that directly and adversely affect performance and recording ability. They appear to not be isolated to my scope.

Just sent it in to Sellmark; they tell me they do not repair, only replace.

I want to give them the benefit of the doubt on these issues; if you're interested in the particulars, PM me.
