Adjustable gas blocks

I have read a heck of a lot on suppressors and some articles here. But,,, I am in a pickle. I am trying to decide on a 300 blkout or the 6.8. Any help would be appreciated. If you run a suppressor do you have to run an adjustable gas block? I do not reload and will be shooting factory ammo and want to keep it as simple of a setup as I can. Surely there is a setup in either rifle that shoots the factory ammo without an adjustable GB. Really not interested in shooting subsonic anything just for the reason of simplicity and not having a adj GB, just less to mess with and less for something to mess up. Thanks in advance!! Just got the trust thing going and getting ready and want to get it right the first time. BANG BANG!!

Mainly for SBR builds. Never needed one for a full length carbine.

With a 16" or longer barrel, carbine gas system, factory ammo, standard bcg, carbine spring, carbine buffer, and suppressor it should be ok. It might end up a little over gassed, but a h2 buffer and/or heavier buffer spring could easily correct it.

My 16" 6.8 needed the adj. gas block. I would pick the 6.8 over the 300 again any day. If nothing else, it gets better velocity from factory hunting rounds.

My 7.62x39, 16", carbine gas, and h2 buffer is gassed correctly with an ident marking MK III suppressor and tulammo 122 HP. I would shoot what you have first. You may get lucky.

Why not always put an adjustable on them so you can fine tune?

I suppose so but,,,, I like to keep it as simple as possible. The less stuff to go wrong or mess with when it comes to an AR as simple as they are sounds better and seems to be more dependable. I know they have a purpose but with every passing day there is always something better coming out that is needed to shoot these things. With all the technology out there I know it is possible to do without one but I do not want to start chasing bugaboos if I decide to build this one myself. Found a local guy that builds these and is good at it and I am leaning towards giving him the business anywhos. BANG BANG!!

Don't waste your money in a 300 BO. Unless your plan is to shoot almost always subsonic suppressed, then go with a 6.8. There are better options than a 300 whether you reload or not.

As for the adjustable gas block, YES, definitely when shooting a suppressor. For the few extra $, you can fine tune so that you don't always have a dirty chamber, carrier, bolt, brass etc. that can lead to malfunctions.

I have 2 ars already ( and looking to sell the 24 inch) that can reach out there if needed. My hunting days are going fast and have probably my last one planned with my daughter this coming Tuesday evening. I am just looking for a 50 to 70 yrd quiet ar with no muss no fuss. That is the only reason I am looking into the blck out. and the more FT messes with that 5X the more I would like to put one of them on it too. This is going to be a gun for my daughter more than me. She is starting to chime in as she reads more about this AR stuff!! BANG BANG!!

yep, the 6.8 has low recoil, i've seen where 6 year olds took deer with it

I have a 300 BObama, 8.5", purely for shooting subs, but subs are very limited at killing anything, because they are slow, bullets don't expand and the ones that do cost $2 each and are iffy in my opinion on getting any penetration

I personally believe it's better to tune them with springs and buffers over adjustable gas blocks. I run non-adjustable on all my rifles and even though I hardly ever shoot them unsuppressed they run fine without the can.
