Gassing the AR-15

Not a definitive answer, but will help with proper gassing of the AR-15, whether you are over gassed, under gassed (short stroking) and what the proper ejection should be:

The most common thing I see on the forums is short stroking. There can be many issues, one is to make sure you have your gas block installed correctly. It does not push against the shelf behind it on the barrel, there should be a small gap for proper alignment. Most barrels have dimples where the set screw should seat for proper gas block alignment.

Other issues of no ejection, gas tube is upside-down.

First thing on any new build or new gun is to clean the chamber and bore thoroughly, especially on Melonite treated barrels. I also like to give a quick polish to the chamber with a felt dremel wheel and Flitz, along with the feed ramps.

Sorry that is NOT true, FrogLube is fine
From the *** website:
Do not use Bullfrog Rusthunter or any rust inhibitor on Melonite or parkerized parts it can damage the finish.

Is Kroil ok on an *** barrel?

Is Kroil ok on an *** barrel?

Not really sure, from what I've read, I think it is ok. thing I don't like about Kroil is they call it and oil and solvent, I use stuff like that only for cleaning and remove it after and use an oil for storage.

Kroil is a terrific penetrating oil for when you need to free up stuck parts, but otherwise it is pretty expensive to use for cleaning, is not a good lubricating oil for a gun, and is poor for rust prevention, mostly because it is just so light and dissipates readily with heat or in just a short period of time.
