Thats crazy looking. Id like a SA, my 7mm is hard for me to put down if Im picking up a bolt gun, but i am going to look at that Q more
Honestly probably not this year. Id love to get a saker 762 for the 6.8 i built and use it on the 308 but $$$ ...Will you shoot suppressed ?
Great points. I do not wear eye pro either and would prefer not to, i sweat like a pig when its over 75deg lol. The fix is def a badass gun and i saw it in 8.6 creedmoor which looks sick. Id go 6.5 in my next bolt gun i think but i have a friend who is a waaayyy better shot than me and he has lost big hogs using the 6.5 . In Ga where i hunt very rarely do the hogs show in big fields. They hug the edges of them or i kill them in lanes. Most of my lanes are about 25 to 30ft wide and i gotta shoot then shoot quickly again. 5 is my best in that small window but 1 was on my L already in the woods and decided to cross to my R. He lost. I built the 6.8 just because i wanted one and it gave me a project other than yard or houseworkSo one annoying aspect regarding my suppressed stoners, is that they "blast" back some soot into my aiming eyeball, if I don't wear eyepro ... and in general, I prefer not to wear eyepro. The Q Fix is a stonerish bolt gun ... but without the self-loading aspect ... no suppressed blow back hitting me in the eyeball. For hogs, I can see a self-loader has advantages when a field full of multiple sounders presents itself ... but it is a close call between eyepro and self loader or no-eye-pro and Fix like bolt gun ... hence cogitating.
Shooting suppressed has advantage of confusing the hogs about where the gun fire is coming from ... especially if over about 50yds ... so they tend to scatter in more directions and offer more follow up shots.
Everything is a matter of priorities and trade-offs
(I hope Eric doesn't think I'm trying to steal a sale from him!! ... Eric might be the most honest sales guy I've ever spoken with ... I called him to order a 6.8 one day and he convinced me it wasn't the right answer for my use case ... who else would do that ?? And he was correct btw ... go Eric Go !!!! and I have no interest in Fix company ... I'm just another dumb@ss walkin ... )
